About this role 

We are seeking an enthusiastic public transport planner to strengthen our public transport policy, planning and operations capabilities in our Melbourne and Brisbane offices. The role will involve advising State, local government and private sector clients on strategic public transport policy and network planning (rail, bus and other modes), emerging mobility technologies and systems, bus, rail and ferry operations and public transport procurement and contracting strategy. 

As member of our consultancy team, you will be involved in all aspects of our business with responsibilities including business development, marketing, bid preparation and project management.

About You 

You are a transport planner with strong interest and experience in public transport who is looking to take the next big step in your career. Following is a list of attributes for which we are looking—we recognise this is a long list, and do not expect any single candidate to satisfy every item. 

You will have: 

* At least three years’ experience in urban public transport transport planning or a closely related field; 

* Understanding of public transport network planning and/or operations; 

* Understanding of public transport performance measures and associated data; 

* Effective report writing and verbal communication skills; 

* Ability to work collaboratively and collegially within diverse project teams, with staff, with clients, and with stakeholders; 

* Ability to analyse and interpret data and effectively communicate its meaning, including experience with Microsoft Excel; 

* Strong presentation skills and confidence to present to clients and stakeholder groups; 

* Passion and awareness of how transport contributes to making better towns and cities. 

The following attributes will be viewed favourably, but are not essential: 

* Experience working within the Victorian transport and urban planning context;Skills in mapping and illustration using GIS and the Adobe Creative Suite; 

* Analytics skills for management, analysis and presentation of very large, complex datasets; 

* Ability to travel and work freely on projects across Australia and New Zealand; 

* Experience in consulting; 

* Experience working with or researching new and/or disruptive technologies such as Mobility as a Service models and implications for public transport; 

* Experience with modelling in VISIM, Saturn, or other platforms.

About this role 

We are seeking an enthusiastic urban transport planner to join our team in Melbourne. We are multi-modal transport planners but have a commitment to growing the role of walking, cycling and public transport in our cities. You will be able to take an integrated view of transport and urban planning but may bring specialist expertise in one of the following areas: 

* planning and design for walking or cycling 

* complete street design 

* parking policy 

* public transport planning 

* integrated transport/ land-use planning 

* emerging future mobility technologies and systesm 

* transport and urban economics 

* transport business case development.

* Ability to travel and work freely on projects across Australia and New Zealand; 

* Experience working with new and/or disruptive technologies such as autonomous vehicles, electric or alternative-fuel vehicles, intelligent transportation systems, fare collection systems or ride-share programmes; 

* Experience with modelling in VISIM, Saturn, or other platforms.
